Tri Starr / Dodge Ram Diesel Replacement Fuel Sending Unit Line Insert. ™Are rusted leaking sending unit lines your problem? Dodge wants to sell you their very expensive Vase system replacement sending unit. Here at Tri- Starr, we have the answer-at a fraction of the price-with our Replacement Fuel Line Insert. Why replace the entire Fuel Sending Unit when all you need to do is replace the rusted line insert? At Tri-Starr we hand build these inserts out of Brass and Zinc Plated Steel Tubing so as to deter any future rusting. Simply remove your fuel sending unit from the truck and place it on your work bench. With a screw driver, carefully pry the old rusted insert from the rubber grommet. Next remove the two plastic fuel lines from the bottom of the old insert and discard rusted parts. Remove and clean the rubber grommet well, then reinstall. Press both fuel lines onto your new replacement insert. Next apply a thin film of silicone (RTV Sealer) to the rubber grommet and to the new insert. Firmly but carefully press the insert back into the rubber grommet. The fuel sending unit is now repaired and ready to be reinstalled. I recommend having a can or two of spray electrical and contact cleaner on hand to clean the diesel off of your unit before you start work on it.
